Daesh terrorists are in a state of chaos and confusion as the Iraqi Army has reversed the momentum of the fighting.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Militants from the Daesh (Islamic State) jihadist group are in "a state of confusion and chaos" amid the progress made in the Iraqi army operation to liberate the central city of Ramadi from the terrorists, Iraqi army spokesman Yahya Rasoul Abdullah said Wednesday.

"We are now very close to the city center," Abdullah said, adding that in several days the operation could "yield good news" since the army's military progress on Tuesday reversed the momentum of the fighting.

On Tuesday, a source in the military command of the Anbar province told Sputnik that Iraqi troops had entered a central district of Ramadi, driving Daesh jihadists out of their positions.

Since May, Ramadi has been occupied by Daesh, a terrorist group outlawed in many countries around the world, including Russia. According to Iraqi intelligence, between 250 and 300 radical Islamist militants had been holding central districts of the city.
