"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted four strikes using fighter and remotely piloted aircraft," the release stated.
Thursday’s airstrike near the city of Raqqah destroyed an Islamic State vehicle and wounded one fighter. Three strikes near Mar’a destroyed a staging area and struck two Islamic State tactical units.
"Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 21 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using fighter, bomber, attack, and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL [Islamic State] targets."
The US-led coalition of 65 nations has been carrying out airstrikes against the Islamic State in Iraq since August 2014, and in Syria since September 2014, but without the approval of the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.
Russia has also continued its aerial campaign in Syria against the Islamic State, which began on September 30 at the request of the Syrian government. The Russian campaign has resulted in the destruction of well over 3,000 targets.
The Islamic State terror group is outlawed in Russia as well as in numerous other countries.
