"In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 11 strikes using attack, fighter, and remotely piloted aircraft," the statement said. "Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 20 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq using fighter, bomber, and remotely piloted aircraft against Daesh targets."
The coalition’s airstrikes in Syria near al-Hawl, Raqqah and Mara hit Daesh tactical units, wounded militant fighters, destroyed vehicles and struck tactical units on Monday, according to CENTCOM.
Meanwhile in Iraq, the 20 coalition airstrikes targeted Daesh mortar systems, an explosives facility, vehicle borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED) and a VBIED factories as well as destroyed weapons caches.
The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been carrying out airstrikes against IS in Iraq since August 2014, and in Syria since September 2014 — albeit without the approval of the Syrian government or the UN Security Council.
