At least two people sustained injuries during a stabbing attack in Jerusalem on Sunday evening, local media reported, citing Israel's national emergency medical, disaster, ambulance and blood bank service organization.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The suspected assailant wounded a 65-year-old man, while a 20-year-old man was hit by a car while trying to escape from the attacker, according to the Magen David Adom (MDA) service.

"He [the 20-year-old] was writhing in pain but said that people at the scene, including a fellow wounded person, helped him until we could get to the scene of the attack," MDA paramedic Elisheva Peretz was quoted as saying by The Jerusalem Post.

The suspect behind the attack was reportedly shot dead by an Israeli serviceman.

Earlier in the day, a 47-year-old man and a 20-year-old soldier were wounded in an attack at the Hizmeh checkpoint in the West Bank.
