MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier on Thursday, prosecutors requested an Istanbul court to arrest Cumhuriyet newspaper Editor-in-Chief Can Dundar and the daily’s Ankara representative Erdem Gul after both journalists were summoned to Istanbul Courthouse to testify. They face espionage and treason charges.
POSITION: We denounce Turkey's attempts to prosecute @cumhuriyetgzt staff for 'espionage'. Wrong when US does it. Wrong when Turkey does it.— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) 26 ноября 2015
Ankara refuted the media reports, insisting that the vehicles were delivering aid to Syrian Turkmens and the allegations were nothing but insinuations.
