MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The first group was busted in the province of Sistan and Baluchestan in eastern Iran, according to the media. The militants reportedly planned to blow up 10 explosive devices near the eastern border of the country close to the city of Iranshahr. The total weight of the explosives amounted to about 150 kilograms, the media reported Saturday.
The second group of terrorists was reportedly neutralized in the northwestern province of West Azerbaijan. According to the authorities, a significant number of weapons and ammunition was seized from the group.
Earlier in November, Iran's Armed Forces in a joint operation with forces of the Intelligence Ministry arrested members of a terror cell in the western province of Kermanshah on the border with Iraq, where ISIL extremist group is operating.
