WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The airstrikes carried out near four Syrian cities, including al-Hasakah and Raqqah, on Sunday, hit ISIL tactical units, vehicles and wounded several fighters, the Central Command said.
“In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 10 strikes using fighter, attack, and remotely piloted aircraft,” the release said. “Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 17 strikes coordinated with and in support of the Government of Iraq.”
Meanwhile, Russia has also continued its airstrikes campaign against terrorist groups in Syria. The Russian Defense Ministry said Monday that over the past two days Russian jets had carried out 131 sorties in Syria, hitting 237 terrorist targets.
As the result of the airstrikes, the Islamic State along with terrorists from al-Qaeda’s affiliate the Nusra Front were forced to defensive tactics along the frontline, according to the Russia’s Defense Ministry.
