The Iraqi air force killed 37 militants from the Islamic State (ISIL) terrorist organization in the Iraqi province of Anbar, while more than 40 terrorists were injured, media reported Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to Sky News Arabia, the Iraqi Army aimed at ISIL militants moving to the north of Fallujah city, in the Anbar province.

In July, the Iraqi armed forces launched a large-scale operation to roll back ISIL insurgency in the region.

Vast territories of Iraq and neighboring Syria have been occupied by the ISIL militant group, which has proclaimed a caliphate on the land under its control. ISIL has carried out numerous terrorist attacks and committed many human rights violations.
