The US-led anti-ISIL coalition has been operating for more than a year but the terrorists captured even more lands, Syria's ambassador to Russia said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The expanse of territory by terrorists has only grown since the US-led coalition against the Islamic State began, Syrian Ambassador to Russia Riad Haddad said Thursday.

“The coalition led by Washington has been in place for over a year, but during this entire period, the territory where the Islamic State prevails has only increased,” Haddad said at a press conference in Moscow.
