DUBAI (Sputnik) — The incident took place on the Saudi-Yemeni border, according to the source. A border security squad was blown up on a mine while patrolling the border in the Saudi southwestern region of Jazan.
The fire was opened from Yemen’s territory, when Saudi reinforcement arrived, the source said.
Yemen suffers from a military conflict as fighting between Houthis, the country’s main opposition faction, and government forces continues.
In late March, a Saudi-led coalition of Arab states began airstrikes against Houthis in Yemen at the request of President-in-exile Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi.
