Syria's Internal Opposition Mulls Skipping Astana Talks Over Disagreements

Syria's internal opposition is likely to skip the upcoming intra-Syrian meeting in Kazakhstan's capital Astana due to disagreements with exiled groups, secretary of Syria's National Democratic Action Committee Mais El Krydee told Sputnik on Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — "What is being planned by the exiled opposition for Astana-2 is unacceptable to us, the opposition that lives in the country and knows what really goes on there. We believe they are developing a plan to split Syria, and we cannot agree with this," El Krydee said.

She stated that she believes "no one from the internal opposition will participate in Astana-2."
