    Russian Aircraft Deliver Humanitarian Aid to Syrian People

    Military-transport aircraft of the Russian Defense Ministry delivered to the Latakia airfield humanitarian aid cargo with basic necessities and food supplies for the civilian population of Syria, according to a representative of Russia’s Defense Ministry.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia’s Defense Ministry aircraft have delivered humanitarian aid cargo for the residents of Syria, Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Saturday.

    "Military-transport aircraft of the Russian Defense Ministry have delivered to the Latakia airfield humanitarian aid cargo with basic necessities and food supplies for the civilian population," Konashenkov told reporters.

    The humanitarian assistance is aimed at deploying a campsite for over a thousand of refugees, he added.
