    Israeli Soldier Guns Down West Bank Teen for Pelting Army Jeep With Rocks

    One of a group of Palestinian teens who were throwing stones at a military vehicle was killed when an army commander got out of the jeep and opened fire.

    A 17-year-old Palestinian was shot dead by an Israeli army commander in the West Bank on Friday, after throwing stones at a vehicle belonging to the Israeli Defense Force [IDF].

    According to reports in the Israeli media, the teenager was one of a group of youths throwing stones at the military jeep, in which Brigade Commander Israel Shomer was traveling towards the Qalandia checkpoint, between the northern West Bank and Jerusalem. It is reported that Shomer got out of the vehicle and shot the teenager. 

    The report from the military said that the jeep sustained damage to the windshield, but that no soldiers were hurt in the incident. The youth, named in the Israeli media as Muhammad al-Kasbeh, was hospitalized and later died of his wounds.
