MANAMA (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, a suicide bomber detonated an explosive during Friday prayers at a Shiite mosque in the Sawaber district of Kuwait City, killing at least 27 people and injuring 227 others.
"Monitoring and verification of oil refineries and companies will be strengthened in the light of the recent terror attack," Khaled Asousi was quoted as saying by the news outlet Friday.
Media reports suggested that the Islamic State jihadist group, which denounces Shiites as heretics and non-Muslims, has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.
