Islamic State Captures Iraq's Ramadi
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Columns of military vehicles are entering the city, BBC said, citing Iraqi state television.

Late on Sunday, the media outlet reported that most Iraqi troops had abandoned their positions, with ISIL insurgents taking over a compound the military used as a command center.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi called on troops to remain in their positions, ordering Shiite militias to prepare for deployment.

Later media reports claimed that Ramadi had fallen with about 500 people dying in military action.
