Iranian energy officials announced that for the first time they have been able to produce a fluid which is used to drill oil wells, therefore, breaking the US monopoly in the field.
The Iranian experts at the Ministry of Petroleum were able to construct a gas micro bubbles generator which facilitates drilling into oil wells – a technology which has so far been used by only the United States.
“This technology will be soon tested in one of Iran’s most important oil fields,” said Mohammad Soleymani, a research director from the Ministry of Petroleum, Iranian media reported.
“It is specifically helpful for fields that have suffered a huge degree of depletion,” Soleymani added.
