"The attacks on hospitals and medical facilities by warring factions as well as the deliberate targeting and destruction of private homes, education facilities and basic infrastructure cannot be tolerated," Mogherini's joint statement with EU humanitarian aid chief Christos Stylianides read.
Yemen is currently experiencing violent clashes between the Houthi militant group, the country's main opposition force, and forces loyal to President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi who fled the country amid the hostilities.
"The impact on the civilian population, in particular on children, of the ongoing fighting between different militias, bombardments and disruption of essential services is reaching alarming proportions," the statement added.
On March 25, a 10-country coalition led by Saudi Arabia began launching airstrikes on Houthi positions following Hadi's request for military support.
