Joint Gulf States Offensive in Yemen to Continue Until Goals Reached
SHARM EL-SHEIKH, March 28 (Sputnik) Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi on Saturday accused Tehran of supplying arms to the Shiite Houthi rebel group and of plotting against the Yemeni people.

“I urge to continue the [Saudi-led military] operation until they [Houthi rebels] will not hand in the arms that Iran was supplying them with for the last several years to wage a war against the state and the people of Yemen,” Hadi said at the Arab League Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Hadi added that the coalition’s attacks should also continue until the Houthis "give up on their conspiracy with Iran against Yemen.”

The Shiite Houthi rebels have seized vast territories in Yemen, including the country’s capital of Sanaa forcing the elected government and President Hadi to resign. In February, Hadi managed to flee from his house arrest to the southern Yemeni city of Aden and, later, to leave the country. He also recalled his resignation.

Late on Wednesday night an international coalition of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Morocco, Sudan, Pakistan and Egypt launched a military campaign targeting Houthi positions in the Yemeni capital Sanaa. The attack came in response to a request by Hadi. The operation called “Decisive Storm” already claimed dozens of lives including those of the civilians.

Earlier on Saturday, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said that the joint military operation will continue until its goals are reached.
