Red Crescent Helps Victims of Weeks-Long Yemeni Crisis - Spokesperson

The Yemeni Red Crescent, a branch of the Red Cross movement, has been providing treatment to victims of the ongoing crisis in the country, a spokesperson for the humanitarian organization told Sputnik Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Red Cross spokesperson added it was still unclear how many people were killed and injured following the Saudi-led airstrikes.

"We have distributed medicines to several local hospitals, not just because of these recent airstrikes, but you remember that there have been violent events in Yemen over the last three weeks now," Sitara Jabeen said.

Earlier in the day, a local source told Sputnik that at least 65 people had been killed since the Saudi-led military operation against the Shiite Houthi group had begun on Wednesday.
