MOSCOW (Sputnik), Svetlana Alexandrova – The Israeli national right-wing rally set for Sunday, just two days before the general elections, is expected to gather 50,000 demonstrators, one of the organizers told Sputnik on Friday.

"We are expecting to gather up to 50,000 people," rally organizer and former mayor of Kedumim Daniela Weiss stated adding that party leaders from the rightists" camp have been invited to speak at the demonstration in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square.

Weiss informed Sputnik that the rally, titled "United for the Land of Israel," is being organized in response to last Saturday's left-wing demonstration that called for the replacement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the upcoming elections.

Over 30,000 protesters gathered on Saturday night in the central Tel Aviv's Rabin square for the left-wing demonstration. The slogans spoke for themselves: "Netanyahu Must Go" and "Israel Wants Change."

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Naftali Bennett, who is Bayit Yehudi leader, Yahad leader Eli Yishai, Avigdor Lieberman from Yisrael Beitenu, Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein and senior members of their parties have all been invited to attend the event.

An early general election in Israel is scheduled for March 17. The two main rivals are the largest parties – Likud, headed by current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and the opposition Zionist Union, led by Isaac Herzog.

The latest poll, published by Haaretz on Thursday, indicates a growing lead for Isaac Herzog over Netanyahu's party. The Zionist Union is polling 24 seats in the Knesset seat against 21 for Likud.
