The advanced warship was officially delivered to the naval forces stationed in a naval zone in the country’s north.

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and Navy Commander Rear

Admiral Habibollah Sayyari attended the ceremony in the port city of Bandar-e-Anzali.

The Damavand is fitted out with 25 homegrown electronics and communication systems, including advanced naval radars and systems for communication, detection and interception, the agency reports.

The Jamaran-class destroyer is capable of simultaneously tracking aerial, surface and sub-surface targets.
