Two Turkish F-4 fighter jets crashed on Tuesday in the central province of Malatya.

ISTANBUL (Sputnik) — Two Turkish F-4 fighter jets crashed on Tuesday in the central province of Malatya, killing all four pilots, Turkish Minister of the Interior Efkan Ala stated.

"Four of our servicemen have died. We still cannot name the cause of the disaster for sure, but we are waiting for the information in the nearest future," Ala told journalists in Ankara.

The two F-4s crashed in a training flight approximately at 21:30 p.m. (19:30 GMT).

According to the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority of Turkey (AFAD), the search for the bodies is still underway.

Preliminary data says the two jets could have collided in the air. Adverse weather conditions could have also impacted the crash.
