Members of Avigdor Lieberman's Yisrael Beitenu party set up a stall in the center of Tel Aviv and displayed Charlie Hebdo copies for public perusal.

Israeli’s Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman displayed copies of the latest issue of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo on Thursday in Tel Aviv apparently as part of his pre-election campaign, according to media reports.

Members of far-right Yisrael Beitenu party set up a stall in the center of the city and displayed Charlie Hebdo copies for public perusal.

The stall did not distribute copies after the party received a warning from the electoral commission that "giving out gifts" could be qualified as bribery.

A snap general election in Israel is scheduled to March 17.
