MANAMA, February 2 (Sputnik) – According to the television's official Twitter account, coverage was halted due to "technical and administrative reasons" and the "hopes to come back soon."
Hours after its launch on Sunday, Alarab aired an interview with Khalil Marzooq, member of Bahraini opposition party al-Wefaq. Marzooq harshly criticized the government's recent decision to revoke the nationality of 72 Bahraini citizens, most of whom are reported to be opposition activists.
Alarab, owned by Saudi prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, was launched Sunday. The channel purports to deliver "an objective, fresh and unbiased view of local and world events." Alarab earlier signed a cooperation agreement with Bloomberg, intending to become a world-class information source for the region's entrepreneurs.
