"Ayala Shapira [the 11-year old girl] was hit in the face and upper body, suffering from third-degree burns on 50 percent of her body. She was brought to Sheba Medical Center in serious condition, and is currently unconscious and on a respirator. Her father, Avner Shapira is said to be in light condition," Haaretz, an Israeli media outlet, reported.
According to Magen David Adom medics, who immediately arrived at the place, "the girl's face was covered in soot and was in much pain."
"She was immediately given medical attention with the help of the IDF medical team," health workers stated as quoted by Haaretz.

"This was a serious attack. The ease on the strictures we have given terrorists has led to many attacks on our roads. It is illogical how we are letting them do this," said Yossi Dagan, the Deputy director of the Samaria Regional Council, as quoted by Arutz Sheva.
"No country in the world would tolerate this situation. We call on the Prime Minister to use a heavy hand against these monsters, despite what some hypocrites in the European Union would say. We support our soldiers and security forces at this difficult time," he added, claiming that all resources of the council had already been thrown to capture perpetrators.
It should be noted that since October, Palestinian attackers have launched a series of assaults against Israelis, the media outlet stresses. Earlier in this month, two Jews were injured during a knife attack near the West Bank settlement of Maale Adumim. Another Israeli was wounded at the Gush Etzion Junction on December 1. In late November, a 26-year-old Jewish woman was killed and two people injured in a knife attack near the West Bank settlement of Alon Shvut.
