MOSCOW, December 17 (Sputnik) – At least ten people were killed in a suicide attack on Afghan bank, carried out by Taliban militants in the city of Lashkar Gah, the Independent reported on Wednesday.
“There are also 15 people wounded, including six members of the Afghan security forces,” said Helmand police spokesman, Fareed Obaid, cited by the newspaper.
One of the terrorists detonated himself near the bank building, while others stormed inside and opened fire. Three police officers were shot by the attackers who stormed the building. The attackers were later killed in the course of the skirmish.
The violence in the country resumed after US-led NATO forces withdrew large parts of their troops from the country, according to Al Jazeera.
The suicide bomb incident follows the terrible attack on military-run school in Peshwar, Pakistan, that claimed lives of 148 people, including 132 children.
