According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicentre of the quake was 173 km of San Jose del Cabo.

A 6.1-magnitude earthquake hit Mexico, the US Geological Survey reported. 

The epicentre of the quake was registered 173 km of the city of San Jose del Cabo.

The quake occurred at 08:46 UTC at a depth of 10 kilometres, the agency added. 

No tsunami warning has been issued.
