According to the source, the police arrested 10 members of a group that was planned acts of terrorism during the sport events.
The members of the group were linked to Daesh terrorist group, the O Globo newspaper cited Justice Minister Alexandre de Moraes as saying. However, this information was not immediately confirmed.
The suspects exchanged messages using Telegram and Whatsapp applications.
According to the minister, one of the detained suspects is a minor.
