MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – The new measure, to be in force on May 18-23, will apply to all entertainment venues for adults, such as nightclubs, bars, pubs and karaoke, where the sale of alcoholic beverages is allowed, the ministry said in a Wednesday statement.
The new measure is being introduced "in order to address public safety concerns," the ministry explained.
On Wednesday, a 6.7-magnitude earthquake hit Ecuador’s western coast, it was followed by a 6.8-magnitude quake that hit the same area. Over 80 people were injured as a result.
The earthquakes came a month after a 7.8-magnitude earthquake on April 16 killed hundreds of people and caused serious damage across Ecuador.
