MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) — The explosion took place in the country's western Narino Department, causing a fire and suspending the pipeline operations, according to the company.

The Transandino pipeline transfers some 85,000 barrels of oil to the Pacific Tumaco port daily.

The militants killed two policemen in Narino just several hours before the pipeline explosion.

The ELN is the second-largest rebel group in Colombia after FARC, both groups are included in terrorist organizations list in the United States and the European Union.
