MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – According to the officials, four children aged 3, 5, 9 and 14, as well as three women aged 19, 32 and 44 are among the victims. They were working in a field in the Sierra Gorda region when a lightning storm came. Two other people were injured by the Friday lighting strikes.
In a separate incident on Friday, a 51-year-old man was killed by a lighting strike while shepherding animals in the Ocampo municipality.
The state of Guanajuato has been hit by thunder storms, which have led to partial destruction in 12 municipalities. The heavy rainfall led to the death of one man, who lost control of his car in the Leon municipality on Friday.
