11:33 GMT 06.07.2021 (Updated: 12:07 GMT 06.07.2021) Earlier, the German magazine Focus cited a police spokesperson as saying that a stabbing incident that left one wounded had occurred in front of the departures terminal at Dusseldorf International Airport.
"The incident involves a homeless person in the parking area", a spokesman for the Dusseldorf police said in a separate statement.
The perpetrator fled the scene and is being sought by both federal and state police.
The wounded person has been taken to hospital.
