Germany has confirmed 1,122 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, with the total count reaching 215,336, according to the Robert Koch Institute.

Live as coronavirus skeptics march in Dortmund, Germany to protest measures in place to prevent the spread of the infection.

The rally follows several other protests held across the country demanding that an end to be put to current restrictions.

Germany has yet so far escaped a sharp rise in new infections upon easing restrictions, a trend that has become somewhat common in many countries around the globe.
