The protests over the death of George Floyd, which began in Minneapolis, have now gone nationwide, with people in other countries even starting to organise protests near US embassies.

Protesters have gathered outside the US Embassy in Paris to condemn racist police violence in light of the death of George Floyd.

The protesters are carrying placards that read "I can't breathe" and "Nous Sommes Tous Des George Floyd [We're all George Floyd]".

Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, died on 25 May after being pinned to the ground and tackled by police. One of the four officers involved held his knee to the man's neck, while Floyd complained, saying: "I can't breathe".
