    According to the Downdetector service that monitors problems with various applications and websites, there has been over 250 reports of malfunctions in the past hour.

    WhatsApp users have been complaining about problems with using the application, Bild reported. According to the newspaper, some users are unable to send and receive voice messages and images.

    ​According to a live map on the Downdetector site, Germany is among the most affected countries at the moment.

    ​Other regions and nations experiencing problems with WhatsApp include the Middle East, the Persian Gulf region, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Brazil.

    WhatsApp is a mobile instant messaging application allowing users to send text and voice messages and make calls. The service is owned by Facebook.
