A new protest was launched this Thursday, 12 December in Paris in the wake of pension reforms announced by French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe.

A new demonstration is taking place in Paris against proposed pension reforms, continuing the wave of protest that have been rocking France for two weeks. The demonstrators are marching from The Place de la Nation to the Place de la Republique.

This comes as the government announced that it is moving ahead with its widely-criticised pension reform.

Under the new retirement plan, those who have worked a full career will be entitled to a monthly pension of €1,000 minimum per month.

The proposed system won't change the legal retirement age which now stands at 62, but workers will have to work until 64 to get a full pension.
