A helicopter pilot partially landed on a vertical mountainside in the French Alps, with the aircraft's nose and blades just centimetres from the snow during the rescue of an injured skier.

There, at high altitude, the skier had seriously injured his leg, and he could only be evacuated by air. Thanks to the skill of the pilot, the rescue operation was successful. The man was lifted on board and taken to hospital.
