The traditional holiday fair in Strasbourg re-opens Friday in the centre of the French city just several days after a shooter killed three and injured thirteen others.

The market has returned to its normal schedule after French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner confirmed that the suspect, 29-year-old Cherif Chekatt, had been killed by police officers during an operation to detain him.

Chekatt was reportedly known to police for his criminal record and radical Islamist views.
