A truck driver for a local supermarket chain Basko in northwestern Italy has taken social media by storm after pictures of his vehicle emerged online. Photos and videos of the tragic bridge collapse in Genoa, Italy show the truck stopped mere meters away from a deadly chasm of a motorway suspension bridge that's claimed around 30 lives.

According to latest data from the scene, around 30 were found dead and 7 more were seriously injured as a result of the incident. The reasons behind the bridge's collapse have yet to be determined.
A section of the motorway suspension bridge on the A10 highway from Genoa to Ventimiglia collapsed at around 11:30 a.m. local time. The 1.1-km long and 45-meter high Morandi Bridge was built 50 years ago by architect Riccardo Morandi and was the first cable-stayed bridge in Europe.
