It seems that the UK is still heading towards a scenario where Brexit talks with the EU come to a standstill and the country leaves the bloc without a deal.

Stefaan De Rynck, an adviser to chief EU negotiator Michel Barnier, has revealed that Brussels is getting ready for a possible collapse of the negotiations on Britain withdrawing from the EU, according to The Independent.

"We are preparing for it, that is for sure, all 27, but it is not a scenario that we in the negotiation room want to bring in that negotiation room," De Rynck was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

He added that "there is a clear negative impact" from a no-deal Brexit, which De Rynck said will damage "both sides but especially the UK economy."

'We Will Stop It': Brexit Talks Stall, But Will It Be No Deal or No Brexit?
Earlier in October, European Council President Donald Tusk said that "the EU27 is not working on a no-deal scenario," voicing hope for "sufficient progress" of the Brexit talks by December.

In late March, the UK officially launched the EU withdrawal process.

The Brexit negotiations between London and Brussels, which kicked off on June 19, are expected to wrap up by the end of March 2019.

In a referendum on 23 June 2016, about 51.9 percent of British voters said "yes" to their country leaving the EU.
