According to police, the incident of a car ramming into pedestrians near the Natural History Museum on Saturday, leaving several people injured, wasn't terror-related. The driver of the car has been released a day after the collision.

LONDON (Sputnik) — A 47-year-old man, whose car rammed into pedestrians outside London's Natural History Museum on Saturday, has been released under investigation, London's Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

"A 47-year-old man arrested following a collision in South Kensington on Saturday, 7 October has been released under investigation," the statement said.

The statement added that the majority of those injured in the car collision had left hospital as there was no longer any threat to their lives and health. The inquiries continue, while the police proceed with gathering the data about the incident.

On Saturday, a car drove into pedestrians near London's Natural History Museum in South Kensington. As a result of the collision, 11 people have been left with varying injuries, nine of them were taken to hospital, including the driver of the car. Later in the day, London's Metropolitan Police stated that the incident was not terror-related, but was a road traffic incident.
