    Scottish police have cordoned off an area in the center of Edinburgh over a "suspicious item," local media reported on Sunday.

    Police and firefighters have arrived at the site after the item was found near the Omni Centre.

    "Police can confirm they are dealing with an item of found property. The item will be examined. Investigations are ongoing," a police spokesman told the Evening News.
