Ukrainian Security Service Finds Arms Cache in Park in Kiev

An arms cache was found in the Hydropark recreational area near the Dnieper River in Kiev, the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) said.

KIEV (Sputnik) — The statement added that investigations into the incident were ongoing. The authorities have launched criminal proceedings over illegal handling of firearms, ammunition and explosives, according to the SBU. Ukrainian laws provide for imprisonment for terms of two to five years for such violations.

"The law enforcement seized 10 TNT blocks disguised as laundry soap, a large number of cartridges and ammunition of different calibers from a cache installed in the pedestrian zone of a popular leisure area," the statement said Saturday.
