MADRID (Sputnik) – On Thursday, Barcelona and Cambrils were struck with the two separate attacks, which together claimed 14 lives and left over 130 people injured. The Daesh (banned in Russia) terror group has claimed responsibility for Barcelona attack.
"Political forces should unify, this will make us stronger in the face of terror… We will win this battle, which targets all our values," Rajoy said, as broadcast by the 24 Horas television channel.
Rajoy went on to stress the importance of "exchanging everything, which is worth exchanging."
"These terror attacks target not only us, but all the countries, which protect freedom and democratic values," Rajoy added as he recalled that many of the victims were foreigners.
A meeting devoted to the terror threat will be held in Madrid on Saturday, according to the Spanish leader. The Spanish National Court will investigate the terror attacks in Barcelona and Cambrils.
