    Dutch Police Confirm Hostage Situation at Radio Station (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

    A hostage situation unfolded in Hilversum, the Netherlands, early on Thursday. Local media reported that a woman was being held against her will in the office of 3FM radio station.

    According to NOS, a local TV station, an unidentified man broke into the building. On his way to the radio station, the man reportedly threatened several people.

    The Dutch police confirmed the reports about the hostage situation.

    The territory around the building was promptly cordoned off.

    A Twitter user shared a photograph of the building where the 3FM radio station is based.

    The Algemeen Nederlands Persbureau (ANP), a Dutch news agency, later reported that the incident had ended peacefully. The police arrested the perpetrator and released the woman.

    This video shot by a NOS reported allegedly shows police car taking the perpetrator to the police station.
