A severe storm caused chaos in a central German state of Hesse. Rail transport was temporarily halted. Even in Frankfurt airport, largest Germany's air hub, operations were impaired.

The train service was suspended in the afternoon for about half an hour.
Frankfurt airport was also affected. Delays and failures in flights occurred
"We currently have zero control," Focus Online cites an airport spokesman as saying.
That means that aircraft, which are still in the air, still have chance to land, but they will not cleared.
The airport operator Fraport warned on its official website that flights could be delayed due to poor weather conditions.

The Frankfurt fire brigade reported via Twitter of about 160 call-outs because of the storm, primarily related to overturned trees and flooded buildings.

The German Mereotogical service (DWD) has issued an official storm warning of level three in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main area in the four-stage warning system.
