The public prosecutor's office in the German city of Hamburg is investigating 109 cases where the suspects have been named and 53 where the perpetrators are unknown, all in connection to the G20 protests, local media reported on Monday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) The allegations include breach of peace, injuring others and resisting police, Der Spiegel magazine reported, citing the public prosecutor's spokesman.

According to the outlet, 33 people are in pre-trial custody.

A number of protests were held before and during the G20 summit on July 7-8. Protest events included both peaceful ones and some that resulted in looting and clashes with police.

According to media reports, 476 policemen were injured in protests, with some outlets suggesting the number could be even higher.
