    American Airlines New York-Bound Plane Declares Emergency, Returns to Manchester

    American Airlines Boeing 767 flying from the UK city of Manchester to New York abandoned its flight to JFK airport 30 minutes into the seven-hour flight.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — American Airlines Boeing 767, which flying from the UK city of Manchester to New York on Friday declared a mid-air emergency, turned back and landed safely in Manchester, media reported.

    According to the Daily Star newspaper, the plane abandoned its flight to JFK airport 30 minutes into the seven-hour flight.

    The nature of the emergency has been described as maintenance issue.
