MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The European Union has failed to live up to Turkey's expectations amid a crippling refugee crisis that forced Ankara to carry the burden almost entirely alone, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.
"We know that in many respects Ankara's expectations have been betrayed by Brussels. And therefore this load, these refugees are carried by Turkey on its shoulders," Peskov said in an interview with the pan-CIS MIR TV satellite broadcaster.
