Authorities in the Norwegian capital of Oslo are trengthening patrols in the places where many people gather, according to local media.

MURMANSK (Sputnik) – Police in the Norwegian capital of Oslo boosted security measures on Tuesday in the wake of the terror attack in Berlin, even though there is no information on any specific threats, local media reported.

"We are strengthening patrols in the places where many people gather, including the Christmas market in Spikersuppa [park in the center of Oslo]," a police spokesperson said, as quoted by the NRK TV-channel.

The spokesperson noted that police had not received reports on any specific threats, adding that many other European countries took the same measures.

On Monday, a truck rammed into the crowd at the Berlin Christmas Market on the Breitscheidplatz square, killing at least 12 people and injuring 48 others. Germany's Interior Ministry characterized the incident as a terrorist attack.
